He had positions as a postdoctoral researcher at Middle East Technical University, Institute of Marine Sciences (2010), Dokuz Eyl\u00fcl University, Institute of Marine Sciences and Technology (2013-2018) and University of Azores, Department of Oceanography and Fisheries, Portugal (2019-2022). Since June 2022, Dr. Tokat is working as a TUB\u0130TAK funded research project coordinator in the SeaMar project at Dokuz Eyl\u00fcl University, Institute of Marine Sciences and Technology. The main research interests of Dr. Tokat are the satellite-based oceanography and climatology of coastal and open ocean seas.
