Arkas Maritime Heritage Tour with DEU Maritime Faculty Students
“Navigate the Past, Inspire the Future”
As part of our student engagement and maritime culture enrichment activities, we visited the Arkas Maritime History Center and Mattheys Mansion with our students. This educational tour offered an invaluable opportunity to explore maritime heritage closely, observe historic artifacts, and gain deeper insight into maritime history and culture.
Throughout the tour, students had the chance to learn about significant maritime milestones, traditional seamanship practices, and the evolution of maritime trade and navigation through distinguished collections and carefully curated exhibitions.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Ms. Tuğba, who guided us with great enthusiasm and expertise, and to Dr. Elif Arslan, who accompanied and supported our students during the visit.
Such experiences continue to strengthen our students’ professional awareness and appreciation for maritime heritage, inspiring them to contribute to the future of the maritime world with deeper understanding and passion.
