CLIMATOLOGY AND LONG-TERM VARIABILITY OF SEA SURFACE TEMPERATURE IN THE SEA OF MARMARA

Dr. Erdal TOKAT

Erdal Tokat graduated from Ege University, Faculty of Fisheries, and earned his PhD in Coastal Engineering from the Institute of Marine Sciences and Technology at Dokuz Eylül University, Turkey, in 2013. He had positions as a postdoctoral researcher at Middle East Technical University, Institute of Marine Sciences (2010), Dokuz Eylül University, Institute of Marine Sciences and Technology (2013-2018) and University of Azores, Department of Oceanography and Fisheries, Portugal (2019-2022). Since June 2022, Dr. Tokat is working as a TUBİTAK funded research project coordinator in the SeaMar project at Dokuz Eylül University, Institute of Marine Sciences and Technology. The main research interests of Dr. Tokat are the satellite-based oceanography and climatology of coastal and open ocean seas. He is experienced in working with satellite-based oceanographic datasets, managing of long-term geospatial dataset by using database management systems and experienced in climate data analysis.
