IMO Sulphur Cap: Navigating Towards Cleaner Seas

The seminar titled “IMO Sulphur Cap: Navigating Towards Cleaner Seas” was held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 11:30. The event addressed environmental sustainability in maritime transport, global practices, and evolving approaches in the sector within the framework of International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations.

The seminar featured Dr. Müge Büber as the speaker, who provided an academic evaluation of the IMO Sulphur Cap regulation implemented under MARPOL Annex VI, focusing on its sectoral impacts, the adoption of low-sulphur fuels, and regulatory compliance processes aimed at reducing air emissions in shipping.

The event also benefited from active student participation through questions and discussions, contributing to the strengthening of environmentally focused awareness in maritime education.
